It would help if you ask your housing provider this question and try to answer it through your own research. Even if you’re only relocating for professional and career reasons, you still want to live in an area that has stuff going on. What kind of restaurants are nearby? Are there a lot of shops? Are there any nearby attractions? What kind of green spaces, like parks, are close?

Do other people in the neighborhood use public transportation, drive, or bike? If many people in the area drive cars, what’s the traffic like in the morning and afternoon? What’s within walking distance? Get a scope of the neighborhood’s layout before making any final decisions.
How Safe Is the Neighborhood?
You want to live in a safe neighborhood. Your corporate housing provider can provide information, but you also pursue some of that information on your own. Ask your potential neighbors about neighborhood safety. Do they feel safe at night in the community? What do the available crime statistics say about the area? The last thing you want to do is move somewhere you don’t feel safe.
What Is the Community Like?
Even in a generic sense, you should try to capture the feel of the community and how it operates. Is it a close-knit neighborhood with frequent festivals, barbeques, and other get-togethers? Is it a young, professional, or older community? Also, how is the noise pollution? Will you live next to a busy road with heavy traffic while you’re trying to work? Again, talking to potential neighbors can be enlightening when it comes to the day-to-day feel of the neighborhood.
